14: Beginner Quilting Class
This class will cover quilting basics:
● Getting ready to start a project
○ Fabric selection
○ Pattern selection
○ Reading a patten
● Basic tool usage (e.g., rotary cutter, mats, rulers)
Students in this class will be constructing a table runner
made up entirely of 2.5” strips and a border.
The final runner measures approximately 20”x72”.
Included in price of class:
● 4-6 fat quarters
● 1 1⁄8 yards for border, binding
● 2 1⁄4 yards backing fabric
● 28×80" batting
Supplies needed for class:
● Basic sewing supplies (e.g., rotary cutter, a ruler, your sewing machine, thread, scissors, straight pins or clips)
** The shop has cutting mats, irons, and ironing boards available for use during class.
*** We do have some of the above mentioned basic sewing supplies available for purchase before class, let us know if you need suggestions when you come to pick out your fabric!
